Gonnas: A Week’s Worth

I wish you could see how many times I’ve attempted to write over the past couple of days. I’ve actually had a cruise ship of material over here, but zero time to crash it into the iceberg that is this blog.
Here are the various ways I attempted to start blog entries all week. Enjoy this motherfucking hodgepodge.
Monday:
Then:
  1. Clean my room.
  2. Make it to yoga class twice. … and by this I mean failed.
  3. Run errands, I guess.
  4. Plan birthday week/extravaganza/etc.
  5. Start in on some of my bigger and more long-term gonnas. (One of those is to make an honest woman out of this blog again. I promise I will, baby.)
  6. Write my first Examiner article.
Now:
  1. Make good on gonnas 5 & 6 from last week.
  2. Return to regular yoga now that I don’t feel like I’m 70% dying.
  3. Complete the rest of my birthday celebrations.
  4. Clean my hoard of stuff.
Tuesday:
IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wednesday:
It’s still my birthday until Sunday.
Thursday:
I am going to finish a full thought today. I’M GONNA FINISH THIS BLOG, DAMMIT!
Friday:
I’m having a party tonight. I’m not going to finish this entry. I can tell already that the champagne will take precedence.
Saturday:

And here we are. You can see my underoverwhelming efforts to write everyday failed miserably. I’ve spent the past few days celebrating my birthday, putt-putting, and super-napping. We’ve arrived to the only moment I’ve had for weeks where I can choose to either sit here and write, or go and do something that requires much less thinking. I’m fighting every bone in my body telling me to go lie on the couch in front of the TV. It’s just so much easier.
Monday:
Oh, hey, look who gave into her urges and didn’t finish her entry yesterday. Now we’re back to the day I’m supposed to list what I’ve done and what I’m gonna do. I’m sure your jaws will drop in pure astonishment when you see how incomplete last week’s list is:
  1. Make good on gonnas 5 & 6 from last week.
  2. Return to regular yoga now that I don’t feel like I’m 70% dying.
  3. Complete the rest of my birthday celebrations.
  4. Clean my hoard of stuff. …….oh, but I already have to clean again.
So here it is, the third week of July, and time for another list:
  1. Make good on gonnas 5 & 6 from two weeks ago.
  2. Make good on gonna 2 from last week.
  3. Clean again, yay.
Let’s see if I can kick my own ass into gear. In the meantime, why aren’t y’all?

  1. It's awful! I'm so determined, but then I get distracted by shiny things like Leslie Knope's hair or pass out while I'm sitting at the computer. I've gotta work on that…
